Joy Unspeakable
Joy is such a beautiful thing, isn’t it? I delight in seeing people with radiant smiles. Answer honestly: when you walk into a room, do you enjoy seeing everyone frowning and downtrodden? Didn’t think so. People like to walk into a room where everyone has a big smile on their face and they’re laughing and joking around! Joy is an awesome gift.
The Bible talks about joy; in Job 8:21 the writer says “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” That means that God wants us to laugh and be filled with His joy! His joy is never-ending. It will never run dry! Jesus is the source of joy! Be honest again — if you think about it, is it more fun to frown or to smile? I know if I try to frown, I end up smiling anyway because it’s so funny to try to force yourself to do something so revolting! Did you know that it takes 13 muscles to smile and 33 to frown? Why overwork yourself?
When God fills us with His Holy Spirit, that in itself is a reason for joy. Some people dance when they have God’s joy in their hearts just like the song says: “when the spirit of the Lord moves upon my heart I will dance.” Just like King David, we are to dance when we have the Lord in our lives, for He is great and greatly to be praised. It’s just like the joy we have when we see the person we most care about.
God wants us to have joy not only when we are with Him in prayer, but every second of every day. We are to let God’s joy fill our entire hearts to overflowing! Why not smile? Don’t we have enough to smile about? If you think you don’t, let God’s joy fill your heart and mind so that you can’t contain it in yourself. When we let Jesus be our source of joy, it truly does become so great that it is unspeakable. Once you have His joy, let it bubble out to the people around you!
Can you think of some other reasons to be joyful? How about ways to express your joy that will brighten someone else’s day? Share them with us in the comments section!

whoooohooo! It think there is so much to be joyful or excited about! Actually I KNOW there is alot to be excited about. I have a Havenly Father whose got me covered. I’ve got another day to beathe the air, feel the wind, see the sun (if these clouds will ever blow away) and so much more. THe list could go on and on.
Simply enjoying life can be enough to brighten someone’s day. When God gives you joy, show your happiness! Contrary to what you might think, it doesn’t come naturally.
Intentionally expressing your joy is a sure way of helping someone else be joyful — or at least for them to ask why you’re so happy. And finding out the Reason for your joy is definitely one of the best things a person can find out.
You’re so right! God want us to be happy, but not just selfishly or on the surface. He wants it to be the joy you described that is sourced in him. He will use our genuine joy to draw others to himself.

Hi, all you free thinkers. What a great job you are doing. I read Adam’s to our Ladies Bible Study last Friday. Was going to read Amanda’s tomorrow but can’t figure out how to just print hers. Keep on keeping on. Jesus has promised great revival in that area and you’re a part of it.
