By Fire
What if you were a log? Imagine it for a moment.
You have potential energy stored in you. Imagine that you were caught on fire. The potential energy will be consumed . . . but what if that fire was the Holy Spirit? What if the fire consumed you but still burned within, leaving as the only trace of who your former self a pile of dust and ashes. Imagine that when you were gone all there was left to burn was God’s desires, intentions, plans, and purposes for your life. Imagine what that fire could do.
This is how I want to live my life, allowing God to have complete control and reign in my life. I want to be consumed, never to be the same. In the same way that a physical object can be consumed by fire, our spirits can catch fire from the Holy Spirit.

Articles like this help me catch the fire! Good analogy.
My favorite way to connect again and get motivated for God is to sit down, read the Bible, and just think about what it means. God is always speaking, and if you listen then sooner or later you’ll hear that call to action.
Very interesting! Of course allowing God to burn away my natural desires is not always the easiest, but it is always the most rewarding! This weekend at youth explosion should help us catch the fire!
That is so very true! I want Gods spirit to completely consume me. Its happened so many times already, you get so lost in his presence its like you literally are “consumed” but these times are the times that make us stronger. Reading articles like this encourage me to continue seeking that spiritual walk and to further my walk with Christ. It’s amazing how God does that. He really does care and wants to use the youth of this era to do his will!
Read a comment today about Even Robberts the Welsh guy. I friend said, he was like a fire, in the spiritual parched land of wales and everyone he touched cought the flame!
Funny, Nathan’s last comment finally reminded me of a quote from John Wesley that’s usually first to mind: “I set myself on fire and the world came to watch me burn.”
Moses turned aside for the burning bush; I think the same will be true if people adopt the attitude Wesley and Roberts had and let God light a fire in them.
